I think it was actually the ghost of Bobby Knight messing up the TSJ jersey retirement: Illinois-Indiana rivalry AND I’m sure he was PO’d that Izzo broke his record, all on the same night! Plus I was at the game and I could have sworn out of the corner of my eye during one timeout that I saw a courtside chair mysteriously fling “itself” on the court! 😳

Contingency plan. Justin Turner signing at this point of his career is a large market team playing checkers instead of playing chess. Kap Tom Ricketts Vlad Jr. ain't coming to the Cubs they are not even going to sign Kyle Tucker to an extension.

The Rickets family owns most of the rooftop buildings, the Zachary hotel, and a huge number of buildings in Wrigleyville that are leased to bars and restaurants. They are NOT struggling. Ricketts knows they are not championship caliber yet so he is buying from "Goodwill". All he cares about is his TV Network revenues, and getting butts into the seats which translates to higher rents in the bars. He knows the butts will come if he has even a semi-decent team. He now has one. The man is ONLY interested in the business. The team means little.
