Valmiki was initially a robber (Adharma). Bhagwan Sri Rama is the most divine name of the universe, only good people can speak Rama word in tretayug🙏🕉️ So Valmiki couldn't speak it since he was Adharma. So Narada maharishi gave him an idea, told him to speak MARAMARAMARAMARA.. which translates to Ma-Rama-Ma-Rama-Ma-Rama so that he can chant Rama word indirectly and absolve his sins. After worshipping Bhagwan Sri Rama for long time, Bhagwan Sri Rama blessed valmiki, absolved his sins and gave him boon to write Ramayana🙏🕉️

No no. The valmiki you're referring to was a different Valmiki of some another kalpa. But the real Valmiki of this kalpa was a Brahmin and he wasn't a robber. He was son of Rishi Pracheta. This is as said by Swami Raghavacharya. And I have heard that story of real Valmiki can be found in Skanda Puran.
