God damnit David I don't need another tripod.
You can drop all 3 peak design legs down and lock the 3 legs at each section at the same time so 4 total locks.
Lucky me, they were running a 20% sale today. Purchased! The biggest selling point based on your video was the stability. That PD looked so wobbly and I like long exposure. Not sure I've seen other videos show just how bendy those legs are. Thank you. :D
Do twist locks make a “snap” or “click” once locked? I tend to prefer flip locks, but haven’t ever used the twist locks.
Love your vids! Really inspiring and informative. Keep it up!
12:30 I know this head has somewhat limited angles. But if you don't need to the level, nor put the camera in extreme sideways tilted angle, and vertical. then I got a solution, but this is what you did in this video, level is blocked by the camera: Rotating the ball head with camera pointing down, I will just have to mount so the level is on the right, but then it's blocked by the camera, this allows me to have the camera pointing down and rotate it, but I won't be able to rotate it to vertical position, but in such recording scenario I wouldn’t need to do it anyway, And if want the camera skewed more than around 40 deg at all positions I need to reposition it, Which I rarely would use anyway. So if one needs that feature one has to get a regular ball head. But I managed to reposition the camera quite quickly with practice. If you want to have unlimited angles without detaching the camera and re-adjusting the position of the ball head, and not blocking the level, you need a different ball head, but using the square mount one can adjust the angle to suit. But it's not optimal, but will work for most recording scenarios. The angle adjustment takes longer due to the limited range of the ball head, but using the square mount one can detach the camera and reposition and angle the ball head at the correct angle. But a proper ball head will make it easier and fast, but will make it taller.
This is hilarious like an 80s infomercial… like you can’t open all the flip latches on the legs of the peak design at once too. 😂
Thank you for the video. I’ll have to find out where to buy one. Take care.
Would you pretty please make a video on the comparison between the Heipi 3in 1 tripod and the Ulanzi zero😊😊😊
Dude how much are you getting $$ to tout the Falcam 😂
Mine is clearing customs in NYC now. Looking forward to getting it :) A few more days.
This is pretty good content. Cheers!
Isn't F38 Pro a pre release name and it's actually called Tree Root? Smart move making it arca compatible and the extra weight & sturdiness make it a nice upgrade.
I already have the Peak Desgin travel tripod alu, but that Falcam ball head looks like a great option. I see one can get stand alone ball heads, with the same quick release system.
Congrats on the 400k club David 🤜
Another peak design +. It can go on a plane. Let me know how you do with attached spike feet at the TSA check.
can i get that falcam pro plate mount separately? that’s amazing
Great video and thanks for posting this! Hard to come across recs aside from Peak Design nowadays. I like you addressed every main point in your argument. You've got a new sub and even though I can't afford this tripod at the moment I'm keeping it in mind
Arca compatible plates actually vary in dovetail width. Does the the f38's lever have enough take up to deal with that?
