@Zen_Cycling

I have watched and listened to a lot of teachings and videos over the past years, this has to be the most profound one. Explanation of the middle way through Buddha's own experience. It starts to sink in when you can notice absolutely the same in your own life.

@Interiormythos

There is a correction to the captions of this video that we are unable to make on YouTube, so please note that at 2:55, 2:58, and 3:29, Abbot Okumura uses the corresponding adjective, "ascetic", to talk about Buddha's strict practice during that period. However, the term has been incorrectly transcribed as "aesthetic", which has a very different meaning. Thank you!

Very interesting and enlightening! I like the sound of his voice.

And the sun sets just as our thoughts set. Beautiful. Thank you.

@jozefwoo8079

Great content. Thank you. One remark on the subtitle : it's not aestethic but ascetic.

@dheerajkrkh

A minor correction, it's ascetic, not aesthetic. At 3:29 and some other places.

@CharlesAmericanus

Hello, what would be the distance between the chair and the wall if I decide to use the chair to meditate due to problems with one of my knees? Thank you.

@robertforrester578

It is very difficult to fend off intrusive, unwanted thoughts. It is not merely an annoyance . . .it is a quality of life issue. I need help with it. Thank you.

@macdougdoug

Ascetic practise, not aesthetic - one is not giving in to desires, and the other concerned with beauty.

@sridharans9956

Transcription contains mistakes.

@RamandeepSJohal

subtitle says aesthetic practice, it should be ascetic. Self mortification can hardly be aesthetic 🙂

@steelwheel-i3s

A ruxurias rife! 😂
