Great video, keep them coming, dude! Thanks for the knowledge.
Hey DeMiDoG45 thanks for taking the time to make and post your Video!.... Some Home Depot stores do carry the the Pex-A pipe and fittings... In my area around Portland, Oregon, out of 8 stores 1 location, East Portland does stock these items... And of course you can order them online from Home Depot and have them delivered to your home or store... I'm replacing polybutylene pipe in my home which leads back to a manifold... I wasn't able to find a manifold that is specifically for Pex-A so I found another system called PexLock, that is also newer in the market place, but very simple to use and the crimps can be removed and installed up to 4 times... I wasn't able to find any in stock at Home Depot but I was able to order them through their website... There are also Youtube videos on it... I should qualify this that I haven't installed Pex-A pipe to the manifold yet but if it doesn't work I'll come back and let you know.
Super helpful and well done video. Thanks for posting! Rich
Just picked this tool up, thanks for the info. Subscribing now. 👍
Perfect man, exactly what I was looking for. Checked out some of you other vids, we have many of the same hobbies, sub'd!
Pex-A rules! Pex-B gives you the blues! Hahaaaaaaaa😂
Don't forget the hand/arm leveraged expansion tool. I cut my teeth on that, and it gives a pretty good workout. Hopefully, I will get your guns. But, probably not because I too opted for the Dewalt, expensive as it is. But boy, what an improvement. it is funny how many "old school" plumbers shun Uponor over copper. You might mention that this PEX is not UV resistant-yet. We'll see what they do with that. I have had issues when trying to retrofit a fitting into a short run of Uponor (say, 24") which is pretty inflexible. I am unaware of a PEX union so for now I heat the piping where applicable and bend it enough to squirrel it onto the fitting. But keep in mind, you've heated the pipe and you have to expand the fitting(s) before the pipe cools off and loses its flexibility, so have everything ready and act quickly. Unless, you have any other suggestions. Thank you!
Great vid...when you purchased this Tool Only, did it come with all three expander heads (1/2", 3/4", & 1")?
We love our good old, faithful battery-operated dewalt brand tools, especially this new pex-a expansion ring thingie! We just love it, Milwaukee Su*cks! Hahahaaaaaa.😅
Your thoughts on expandable Pex B (Zurn) better resistance to Chlorinated water??
Pex A has more leaching, you had it backwards. Thanks for the vid.
Hi, Thank you for your video. It is very helpful. I am wondering, How to remove or un-do the ring of PEX-A? Thank you!
What’s your arm routine!?!
Looks like it takes longer to make an expansion connection than a crimp connection.
That is a male crimp fitting not a shark bite no need for crimp or expansion with shark bites just push to apply
This is like a religious debate. Stating the Pex-A power tool is the "more professional way "is a bit misleading. Pex B has a tool to power cinch the clamp, I would argue quicker than doing the 11-12 iterations of the Pex A expansion tool. There are Pros and Cons of PEx A vs Pex B that each user needs to weigh and make the decision that is correct for them. Pex A is a no-no in hot water recirculation systems. Zurn makes a Pex B that can be clamped, cinched or expanded, but is not as flexible as Pex A.
Killer thriller. The crimp rings are a pain i* t** a** and tight spots . Put with your biceps bro makes it easy but probably makes it difficult for you to crawl around under a house.
Every store is out of stock for this Dewalt tool... strange.
Lol. Leave it kinked if you don’t need the full diameter. Lololol
