You don't need to worship anything unless you think it deserves respect. In India we are into hero worshipping and if hero tells to worship so and so we go and do it. Think for yourself and not because others tell you to

We do not worship idols !! We worship Murthi !! Idol after pranpratishtha is called Murthy and is being worshipped!! Please stop calling Murthy puja as idol worship

Murthi is NOT EQUAL TO IDOL. PRAAN PRATHISTHA ,once done, changes it into a murthi, worshipped by us. PLS do the course SANSKRIT NON TRANSLATABLES by Shri Rajiv Malhotra.
