A friend of mine was extremely found of Mozart. He wrote books about this. His name was P-G Bergfors. Sadly he passed away last year, 94 yo.
The painting at 7:00 of Mozart in the video looks so much like my Dad. He has passed. I showed this painting to my Mum a few years ago who was blown away by the similar facial features especially the eyes. The first time I saw the painting I was awe struck. It literally could be a portrait of my father. This is interesting video David. Thank you for sharing it. This is a fascinating story.
These little cameos are very enjoyable David, keep them coming (at your leisure of course)
I got chills from this. What an incredible story.

"It is a sobering thought that when Mozart was my age, he had been dead for two years." - Tom Lehrer
Amadeus really was great, but they should make movies about ALL great composers, pisses me off that cinemas are full of Transformers and Marvel characters, they're LAME next to geniuses, which Tony Stark is a LAME imitation of. I'd personally love to see an Ives biography, and not a damn documentary, that's all they have, documentaries telling us what we already know.
Poisoning has been ruled out.
Poor Salieri---he lived in the shadow of greatness that daily reminded him of his superior rival, and then got blamed for his death and had a nervous breakdown. Envy is a bad thing but it's allowed; he was punished for being human. It's interesting to see how innacurate the great movie was; even as a kid watching it I thought, "Hm, did it really go down like this?"
In my amateur's opinion, The Requiem is the greatest composition in the history of music. And the symmetry of his having died before he finished it is perfect.
I’ve heard this song so many times, completely unaware that it was essentially a group project 😅
In a 90's documentary on PBS (narrated by Peter Ustinov), we are told that Mozart was a victim of a cholera epidemic.
Outstanding video. Thank you!!
Fascinating, I had no idea about this. The count was using ghostwriters before that was a thing, as far as I knew anyway 🤔
35 back then is alot of years
I will always picture Mozart looking and behaving like Tom Hulce in the movie.
Thanks for making this interesting and informative video
The early 70's, my friend Evan and Bowie's music.
This is a good channel, sorry I only just subscribed, I was down the rabbit hole of your repertoire.
