Water hammer tubes like that are outdated. They fill with water in a week or two and don't do anything but trap stagnant water.
1/2" Aquapex (Uponor Pex-A) should be 5 expansions, and the expander head should be going in straight and evenly into the tube / expansion ring; upon which, the tube will reach the shoulder of the 1/2" expansion head. The majority of Pex-A leaks are due to people using Pex-B fittings, or no-name knock-off china Pex-A fittings. Improper tool usage, or using a tool without a rotating expansion head, would be the cause for the rest of the leaks. Also, the Blue and Red Aquapex has manufacturing issues and should be avoided. The clear/white Aquapex has had no issues.
Air hammers should be made with a sliding divider to hold air, keep water from getting stagnant.
"Hey boy, you better watch that water hammer"
compared to the other available types of PEX, Uponor is the best. Here is why: the Inner Diameter of the pipe with fittings is 1/2", not 3/8". The other types chokes the water down at each fitting.
Finally... the pipe stretcher!
gotta love Uponor.. been using it for over a decade and it never dissapoints.
OMG that is X rated! This shouldn’t be available for just anyone to watch!
Do you really just leave it like that and the plastic will shrink into a water tight fitting?
Would you be interested in 7 clicks for 1/2”?
I have used Uponor for several years and its the standard where i live. But i switched over to Sanipex and its the Rolls Royce of pex systems. You get the security of Uponor and the conveniance of a compression fitting. Super easy to install and service. Pluss you dont need batteries and no noise🦾
finally a video of someone using good pex. too many people crimping
Seems like a slower process than crimping rings, to be honest. Definitely prefer my Milwaukee propress/ with copper & pex heads
Friend is finishing up recalled PB water replacement. His system had all those plastic tees were breaking upstairs and flooding his flat. Whats your experience. I prefer brass fittings here.
I heard there’s a problem with these kinds of fasteners on uponor plumbing that they crack and leak. Has this been resolved as I like this better than the clamping o rings?
The air pockets after time will turn all into water and will not help with air hammering
1st contact with water snd the whole extension will blown into the wall cavity.
Here another tip if u do not have a tool like that dip the nylon pipe in very hot water it will soften up
Electric or battery powered
