Daily Bread
1) Seeking strength in God during crisis.
When David faced a huge crisis, he turned to God for strength. Even when things looked hopeless and his own friends were against him, David trusted in God for help and direction. As a college student, when you encounter tough times—like failing in school, personal problems, or issues with friends—remember to seek God's help first. Instead of feeling hopeless, use these experiences to grow stronger in your faith. Praying and meditating on God’s teachings gives us peace and understanding when life gets tough. Will you turn to God first when you face troubles?
2) Following God’s guidance.
David didn’t rush into things or seek revenge; instead, he asked the priest for God’s guidance before acting. Following God’s instructions not only helped him get everything back, but also stopped him from making impulsive choices that could’ve made things worse. Before making big choices, pray, read the Bible, and get advice from wise people. Whether it’s choosing a major, a career path, or a relationship, let your faith guide your actions. In Matthew 7:7, God says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Trusting God’s plan and timing will bring success and peace, even when things are tough.
Prayer: Father, in times of distress and confusion, let me find my strength and direction in You. Teach me to always seek Your will first, trusting that You lead me toward restoration and peace.
