“The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”

Daily Bread
1) God provides everything we need.
In this passage, we see how God created a beautiful garden with everything Adam needed to live and be happy, including food, water, treasures, and even a mission to give his life purpose. God is the ultimate provider of our happiness. We only become unhappy when we start turning away from God’s commands, doubt his love, and start complaining about what we don’t have. How satisfied are you with your life right now? True satisfaction comes from recognizing that, in God, we have everything we need. Sin and selfish desires make us crave more and become unthankful for His blessings. Instead of craving more, how can you focus on the mission God has entrusted to you with gratitude and trust?

2) Obeying God’s word.
In the Garden of Eden, they didn’t have the Bible or Ten Commandments. God gave Adam one rule: not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God warned him that if he ate from it, he would certainly die. This rule wasn’t meant to take away Adam’s freedom but to protect him. God always knows what’s best for us, and His boundaries are there for our good. Sometimes, we might not understand God’s commands, or they may feel difficult to obey, but trusting God means believing He has a good reason for every boundary He sets in place. Do you see God’s word as just a list of rules to follow, or as His loving guidance to help you stay on the right path?

Prayer: God, thank You for providing everything I need and for the many blessings You have given me. Help me to trust and obey Your word, even when I don’t fully understand, knowing that Your boundaries are for my good. Teach me to honor You through my choices and to find true satisfaction in You alone. In Jesus' name. Amen.
