I had the privilege of playing this beautifully expressive short Lento by Flor Peeters on the magnificent 1804 Van Peteghem pipe organ in the Laurentius Church, Ulvenhout. The church’s acoustics are simply breathtaking, allowing the music to resonate through the pillars in a way that felt almost otherworldly.
Sadly, I can only share the sound with you, not the feel of the piece. As I played, I could feel the tones enveloping the space, vibrating through the walls, and filling every corner of the church. It was one of those rare moments where I thought afterward:
“Wow… this is special. This is what it means to let the whole church resonate.”
I hope you enjoy this performance as much as I did playing it! Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
For the best listening experience, I recommend using headphones, earbuds, or a hi-fi set. The sound dynamics of the pipe organ are truly remarkable and can be fully appreciated with high-quality audio equipment.
