Daily Bread
1) Consequences of spiritual unfaithfulness.
Jerusalem was like a vine that became useless and was burned. When we ignore God's vision and purpose for us, we also risk becoming ineffective in our spiritual lives. For students, this can happen when school, friends, or hobbies become more important than growing in your faith and staying close to God. Think about how you spend your time each day. Are you praying and reading the Bible? Are your choices helping you get closer to God or pulling you away? Pick at least one spiritual habit, such as establishing a specific time each day to pray and read the Bible, to help you stay connected to God.

2) The danger of chasing false idols.
God compared Jerusalem to an unfaithful wife. The people chased after idols, loving worldly things more than God. The same can happen in our lives. Just as Jerusalem chased after foreign gods, we can be tempted by the idols of success, relationships, or even technology We forget our first love: God. This spiritual adultery hardens our hearts and weakens our spiritual lives. Think about the "idols" in your life—anything you put before your relationship with God. Repent and ask for God’s help to eliminate them from your life. Ask a friend to keep you accountable. With a sincere heart, come back to God and make your relationship with Him your top priority.

Prayer: Lord, help me to see where I have been unfaithful or where I've let other things become more important than You. Forgive me for not putting You first and guide me back to a strong and committed relationship with You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
