युद्ध भूमि कुरुक्षेत्र में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण द्वारा दिया गया उपदेश युद्ध-शास्त्र है। अब तक 5000 से भी ज़्यादा भाष्य लिखे जा चुके हैं और सबने इसे ज्ञान शास्त्र समझा । इसे एक योद्धा की दृष्टि से देखा ही नहीं गया और ना ही योग-शास्त्र के तौर पर इसकी व्याख्या की गयी। क्योंकि कोई भी व्याख्याकार ना तो स्वयं एक योद्धा थे और ना ही वास्तविक योगी।

पूजनीय योगिराज लाहिरी महाशय ने इसपर यौगिक व्याख्या तो की परंतु युद्ध-शास्त्र की बारीकियों से सम्पूर्ण विश्लेषण नहीं हो पाया। परिणामस्वरूप सबने अपने-अपने ढंग से, अनुभव-विहीन बौद्धिक व्याख्याएँ की । किसी व्याख्याकार ने यह सोचा ही नहीं कि क्या भगवान श्रीकृष्ण युद्ध-भूमि में क्या वैसी बातें करेंगे जैसी वे समझ रहे हैं या तबले हार्मोनीयम लेकर दूसरों को समझाने निकल पड़े। ज़रा विचार करें।

The teachings given by Lord Krishna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra are War Doctrines (Yudh Shastra). Till now more than 5000 commentaries have been written and everyone has considered it as wisdom path (Gyan Shastra). It has never been seen from the point of view of a warrior and neither has it been interpreted as Yoga Shastra. Because none of the commentators were themselves warriors nor real Yogis.

Revered Yogiraj Lahiri Mahashay did give a Yogic explanation on it but a complete analysis of the nuances of Yudh Shastra could not be done. As a result, everyone gave their own intellectual explanations in their own way, without any experience. No commentator thought whether Lord Krishna would say the same things on the battlefield as they are understanding or preaching to others. Just think.
