November 1st 1950 marked the beginning of an aerial counter attack that the Americans were not prepared for. These North Korean MiGs with their suspiciously competent and Russian speaking pilots would prove to be the end of many American aviators. F-86 pilots would meet the MiGs head on, embarking on one of the bloodiest, longest lasting, and most equally matched aerial battles ever fought, over a highly contested area on the Chinese border known only as “MiG Alley”. So, who came out on top? Which Cold War combination of aircraft, training and tactics was superior?
(I put the wrong planes on screen at 31:00 and for this I am eternally shamed)
