1) The impact of hidden sins.
Ezekiel’s vision highlights the profound impact hidden sins have on our spiritual life. Even though the elders tried to hide their wrong actions, God sees everything. This is a crucial lesson, reminding us that our private choices affect our spiritual health and integrity. We need to check our actions and thoughts regularly. What do you do when no one else is watching? Let’s align these private moments with God’s teachings by devoting ourselves to prayer, Bible study, and accountability with trusted friends or mentors. 1 John 2:17 says, "The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever." Let's keep choosing God's will over our own by holding onto His words of truth!

2) The consequences of spiritual leaders’ failures.
The elders, who were supposed to lead the community spiritually, instead led them into idolatry, thus devastating their spiritual health. As future leaders, we must understand the responsibility that comes with influence. Strive to positively impact others. Whether in study groups, work, extracurricular activities, or casual interactions, let your actions be guided by faith and integrity. Be aware of how your decisions affect others and choose to lead by example, showing values that support a godly lifestyle. Let’s commit to being leaders who guide others toward a faithful and righteous path.

Prayer: Lord, keep my actions pure both in public and private. Teach me to value integrity and to understand the impact of my leadership on others. Help me to turn away from the sins hidden in darkness and live to shine your light and truth. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
