There are no shieldmaidens in Tears of the Wolf! (At least not at the time the story takes place.)

Looking at other Viking-inspired Fantasy Romance books, it seems like shieldmaidens are kind of expected.

While I get the appeal of the warrior woman who defies society (Lord knows I've written several!), I wanted to explore something different with Brynn.
