Johann Pachelbel (1653 - 1706) is best known for his Canon in D, Chaconne in F and the dramatic Toccata for the organ heard in this video. Considered from the middle Baroque era of music, his music is influenced by Johann Jakob Froberger and Johann Casper Kerll, both southern German composers and the Italian composer Girolamo Frescobaldi. A contemporary of north German composer Dieterich Buxtehude, Pachelbel represents the south German style.
The Hauptwerk pipe organ sample set is the 1993 Janke organ found in the city church of Bückeburg Germany. It is sampled by Sonus Paradisi.
