I Talk To Birds 🐦 🥰

While Salmon Fishing on a coastal river on Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, a friendly bird kept getting closer and closer. After several visits I started talking to it when suddenly it flew up and tried to perch on my fishing reel. Unfortunately it didn't get a good grip and slipped off and flew away. It was an really cool experience. Encountering nature like this is the bonus of going fishing.

The Dipper landed on my fishing pole last year while I was fishing for salmon and steelhead on a coastal river in Washington State. I wondered if this was the same one ? I doubt it, however it was fun to think it was the same bird.

This distinctive bird is locally common along rushing streams in the West, especially in high mountains. It is usually seen bobbing up and down on a rock in mid-stream, or flying low over the water, following the winding course of a creek rather than taking overland shortcuts. The song and callnotes of the Dipper are loud, audible above the roar of the water.
