Daily Bread
1) Seeking refuge in unlikely places.
David chose to live among the Philistines because he was under pressure. Even though he trusted God deeply, David felt he had to compromise to keep his people and family safe. This shows that sometimes, our choices aren’t perfect, and we might end up in tough situations just to survive. As a college student, you might face times when you must compromise or be in places that don’t match your beliefs. It’s important to think through these times carefully, get advice from wise people, and continually ask God for help. This will help you make choices that stay close to your beliefs and values. Nahum 1:7 says, "The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him." Let’s trust in God. who keeps us safe. Let’s stay strong by following where He leads us!

2) The consequences of compromise.
David found temporary safety among the Philistines, but his actions, like deceiving Achish, led to violence, which complicated his life. This teaches us about the lasting impact of our choices, especially when they involve compromise or ethical challenges. In your academic and personal life, think carefully about quick fixes to problems. Consider how your decisions could affect your integrity and spiritual health in the long run. Instead of letting tough situations push you into making wrong choices, aim to decide in ways that you can be proud of and stand by without regret. Will you trust in God, who promises to take care of you no matter what?

Prayer: Lord, guide me through times of decision and pressure. Show me how to rely on You instead of making choices I know aren’t right. Give me the strength to do what You want me to do and help me understand how to handle hard situations wisely. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
