"Sikkim Charges Tourists ₹50 From March!"

Starting March 2025, the Sikkim government has implemented a ₹50 entry fee for tourists under the Sikkim Registration of Tourist Trade Rules 2025. This fee is collected during hotel check-ins and is applicable to all visitors except children under five and those on official government duty. The revenue generated will be directed to the Tourism Sustainability Development Fund, aiming to enhance infrastructure, improve road connectivity, and maintain cleanliness, thereby enriching the overall tourist experience. The fee covers stays up to 30 days; tourists returning after this period will be charged again.
