The second round of heavy rain 🌧 has started to get both the Salmon and fishermen get excited as the fall Spawning run continues. This was taken in early November 2024 as Chinook or King Salmon have already returned to spawn along with some early Coho or Silver Salmon and summer run steelhead to this small tributary creek on a Olympic Peninsula River. Now the returns are more Coho and Chum Salmon along with a few early winter steelhead. The river and creek is high with heavy flow and color from debris being washed down.
Fishing for these fish is closed on the creek to allow safe passage and Spawning. However, fishermen have started to try their luck down lower on the river where it's open for fishing. The lower river in the tidal area was loaded with chum Salmon, Coho, and Chinook waiting for more water from the rain. The early fish are mostly darker here due to the waiting, however soon there will be more chrome bright fish shooting up river as the rain raises the water level.
