But recent reports from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) suggest that the water was not be safe for bathing. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) questioned the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) for misleading data, yet the UP government insists that the water is clean. Is this just propaganda, or is the holy river truly safe?
