Arvind Singh Mewar Death: Maharana Pratap's Descendant, Royal Family Member Arvind Singh Mewar Dies

Arvind Singh Mewar, a descendant of Maharana Pratap and the chairman of HRH Group of Hotels, passed away on Sunday at the age of 81 after a prolonged illness. He had been receiving treatment at his residence in City Palace, Udaipur. Mewar is survived by his wife, Vijayraj Kumari, son Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, and daughters Bhargavi Kumari Mewar and Padmaja Kumari Parmar. His funeral will take place on Monday, and Udaipur City Palace will remain closed for tourists on Sunday and Monday as a mark of respect. Mewar was educated at Mayo College, Ajmer, and pursued hotel management courses in the UK and US. In addition to his business achievements, Mewar had a successful cricket career, debuting as Rajasthan's captain in the 1945-46 Ranji Trophy. He also formed the Mewar Polo team and contributed to the development of polo in the UK. A dedicated philanthropist, he chaired the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation.
