The Rarely Heard Organ Music of Louis-Antoine Dornel - Prelude and Trio

This rarely heard organ music from the composer Louis Antoine Dornel comprises two of only fourteen pieces he wrote for the organ. Louis-Antoine Dornel (1680- 1757) was a French composer, harpsichordist, organist and violinist. These works were rediscovered in the 1960's and ultimately published in 1965 by Norbert Dufourcq.

The Hauptwerk pipe organ sample set heard here is the 1885 Cavaille-Coll organ found in St. Etienne's church, Caen France. It is sampled by Sonus Paradisi.
