College Athletes Still Have To Attend Class #ncaa #nlrb #sports

College Athletes are employees of the school they work for!!! This doesn’t mean that they’re exempt from classes though! Think of them more like student workers and less like faculty or professors. They’re kinda like TAs or other student workers in that a condition of their employment will be that they are an enrolled student who is actively taking classes. This is huge news regarding the NCAA, NIL, and College Sports in general! The NLRB just ruled that Dartmouth’s Men’s Basketball Team are employees of the school. This means that student-athletes are allowed to unionize, and they will be able to pursue things like workers comp, insurance, and equal pay for student athletes. This is a massive change. The NCAA, Dartmouth, and the Ivy League will probably appeal this decision, but this could be the end of amateurism in college sports! If this decision passes the appeals process, then student-athletes will be full-fledged employees and can be paid directly by the schools! This is a huge moment for law, sports, sports law, college sports, and America in general! This is fresh breaking sports news, so expect hundreds of student athletes at colleges across the country to seek reclassification in the coming days! What are your thoughts on this? Thanks again for watching, and I’ll see you next time!!
