Zechariah 3:1-10, KV 8b-9
“I am going to bring my servant, the Branch. See, the stone I have set in front of Joshua! There are seven eyes on that one stone, and I will engrave an inscription on it,’ says the LORD Almighty, ‘and I will remove the sin of this land in a single day.”

1) God’s purifying forgiveness.
Zechariah’s vision of Joshua being cleansed of his sins and dressed in fine garments shows us the power of God’s forgiveness. Because of our sin, we’re like beggars in filthy clothes. But when we repent and come to God, He takes away our sin and dresses us like royalty. He welcomes us into His family and calls us His own. Sometimes, we start listening to Satan’s condemning voice when we remember our mistakes, failures, and weaknesses. But God’s voice stands between us and Satan’s lies. God says, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you” (v. 4). When you’re struggling with feelings of guilt or inadequacy, come to God, trusting in His forgiveness and cleansing. Remember how God sees you and live with that identity.

2) The finality of Jesus’ sacrifice.
Zechariah’s vision pointed to Jesus, the ultimate High Priest, who permanently removes our sins through His sacrifice on the cross. Unlike the continuous animal sacrifices in the Old Testament, Christ’s sacrifice was once and for all—effective and final. Freedom and forgiveness of our sins are only possible because Jesus Christ paid the price for them. Reflect on the completeness of Jesus' sacrifice for your sins. Let this understanding deepen your gratitude and love for Christ, motivating a more committed and joyful service to Him. Let’s live with thankfulness for God’s grace and complete forgiveness!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for providing a way for our sins to be removed through Jesus Christ, our High Priest. Help me to live in the freedom and joy of Your complete forgiveness. Strengthen my faith and my daily walk with You, so I can serve You with all my heart, wearing the righteousness that Christ has given me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
