Big Buddy Heater Mods

This video lists the modifications I’ve made to my Big Buddy portable heater for use in an ice fishing shelter.

Adding a cooking grill.

*Adding a simple, lightweight portable base that raises the heater four inches above the floor.

Removing the rear panel to gain access to the heater’s wiring.

Splicing the wiring to add power leads for a 6 volt power cable with alligator clips.

Soldering the leads for a 5 volt USB power cable.

Note that the Mr. Heater website FAQ states that the #F273699 fuel filter is NOT required for the #F371803 extension with regulator because it is a low-pressure hose.
