This Was Railroading: The Women Telegraphers on Utah Railroads in the 19th Century

In 19th century Utah, women dominated the telegraphy industry, and when railroads arrived they then moved into the railroad stations as agents, dispatchers, and telegraphers. This video tells the stories of five of them, but there were many dozens of women who worked for Utah's railroads, including the Union Pacific and Central Pacific, whose names are not known.
