Restoring Peatlands

Ever worked hard on something impressive that kind of went unnoticed? 😒 Then you’ve got something in common with peatlands — an unsung hero in the fight against #climatechange.

1 - The first thing you need to know about peatlands is that they are WET 💦 and that the plants that grow there take thousands of years to decay into peat soil.

2 - You know how incredible rainforests are at storing carbon? Well, peatlands can store 30 times more carbon than rainforests, and twice as much carbon as all the world’s forests combined. 💪
