Math Competitions, Traders vs. Quants, and Stand-up Comedy | Podcast with Emily Mu

Podcast with Emily Mu, my friend and colleague at MIT

Emily graduated from MIT with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Math. During high school, she won several math competitions, which later helped her get an internship at D. E. Shaw & Co. as a quantitative analyst. Before starting her PhD at MIT, Emily worked in the Google Ads group. Her PhD research focuses on applied machine learning.

▬ In this video ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
We talk about how to develop good mathematical intuition, which can be very helpful if applying to top internships at hedge funds and investment banks. Next we talk about Google ads, trading vs. quantitative analysis, Wolf of Wall Street, and Wall Street.
